I have to admit that I have never been an activist member of the Pagan community in terms of joining protests and such. The closest I’ve ever come is attending an occasional Pagan festival, but I admire those individuals who put their beliefs into the public eye on a frequent basis (even if I don’t always agree with their views or tactics).

Todd Alan has been a fixture in the Pagan community for many years. His emphasis has always been on the interconnectedness of all things. This disc continues that emphasis. The fifth track (“Heal the Earth”) hearkens back to song sharing circles around the nightly fires at a Pagan gathering.

Honestly, the first three tracks on this disc only moderately drew me in. The next three brought me back to my Pagan roots.

I am a big fan (as will be obvious from my choices of discs to review) of the non-metal (for lack of a better description) approach to music. I prefer more emphasis on distinguishable vocals and instrument, as opposed to screaming, clashing amps and overpowering percussion. I know that betrays my age (I’m on the wrong side of 50) and I don’t expect everyone to agree with me – nor do I belittle those whose choices differ from my own.

I am open to any suggestions regarding new artists and groups, bearing in mind my stated preferences. I am also open to being persuaded to try something new.

My overall impression of this disc is that I am glad I added it to my library. It contains a variety of approaches to the songs contained on it.
