Once again the Witches’ Almanac has changed. The cover is new and improved, by going retro. There is more of an “olde time” w2oodcut look to the glossy cover. The price is higher than in past years, but the quality continues to improve, and it is well worth the modest price increase.

The theme for this year’s edition is divination and prophecy, with a number of articles exploring these topics. There are the usual astrological and meterological predictions as well.

As a long-time reader of this series of almanacs (I may be missing one or two volumes in my collection) I have to say that I have always been impressed by the breadth of articles which appear every year. I continue to be impressed. There are changes, naturally, because of staff changes and general evolution, but I have yet to encounter an issue which hasn’t piqued my interest in some obscure item, or (at the very least) set me to scratching my head and wondering “Where did they find that?”

I recommend this year’s edition (and the back issues) to anyone who seeks inspiration and knowledge.
